ARCHAEOLOGICAL SUPERVISOR POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY IN KAILUA, HAWAII

Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Archaeological Supervisor to lead field projects throughout Hawaii and into the Pacific Basin. Excellent organizational skills are a must as well as the ability to direct field crews in various locations, and enjoy working in a sometimes fast paced environment.  It is necessary that the candidate live within or close to the Kailua area or be willing to relocate or commute to that area.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree or higher in Anthropology or related field and prior experience supervising field crews.

Job Duties:

• Fieldwork (survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery)
• Leadership (decision making, team building, conflict resolution and problem solving)
• Professional site form preparation, report writing skills, research and literature reviews
• Organize and track field GPS data collections using Trimble units.
• Working knowledge of NEPA and Section 106 standards

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is:

• Positive, motivated and detail-oriented
• A Master’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology
• A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in Hawaii and the Pacific
• Ability to travel and supervise field crews over extended field sessions
• Able to work and supervise field crews in  sometimes inclement weather, rugged terrain, and to carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
• Possesses good writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with the public as well as State and Federal Agencies
• Has demonstrated experience using basic computer software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
